UV RADIATION-CURABLE
(RADCURE) COATING

Delta supplies both major types of UV coating:

• Acrylated epoxies, urethanes and polyesters, which are formulated for corrosion performance

• Cationic epoxies

Delta UV coatings provide excellent metal adhesion, hydrophobicity and salt spray protection.  Other advantages include:

• EPA zero VOC or extremely low VOCs

• Cure speeds of 3-10,000 fpm

• Convenient, one-part coating system

• Durability higher than traditional EPA zero VOC products

• Product integrity: substrate is not affected during cure

• The quality of radiation cure is not affected by humidity or temperature.

Delta provides high-quality UV coating formulas.  Applications include:

• Overprint varnishes and inks for food and other packaging

• Plastic coatings - rigid, flexible and elastomeric

• Vinyl flooring

• Wood and faux wood coatings: particleboard, plywood sealers, prefinished hardwood flooring, kitchen cabinet and furniture primer and topcoats, UV coatings for MDF

• Coil coating

• General metal and exterior metal decorative (architectural coatings)

• Electronics and electrical coatings and encapsulated coatings

• Fiber optics casings

• Telecommunications equipment

• Automotive, appliance and machinery manufacturing

Important Notes regarding UV coatings:

• Handling requires strict adherence to protective apparel requirements

• Products are 100% solids, so packaged costs are higher, however total costs are lower than powder coating, and UV coatings from Delta offer the lowest cost per coated sq. ft.

• Metal substrates require a post-bake for optimum adhesion.

• With the exception of cationic epoxies, curing stops when the light source is removed.

• Aliphatic urethane acrylates are the only UV coatings formulated for exteriors, and require more time for cure than conventional coatings.

	Delta radcure coatings include epoxies, urethanes and polyesters and EPA zero VOC formulas.

Science is continuously creating new opportunities for radcure UV coatings.  Many complex shapes can now be coated with a UV epoxy or other UV coating.  Delta UV coatings can also be used for coil coating.
